History of Modern Innovation
The concept of innovation labs has become a cornerstone in both the corporate and academic worlds. Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works, established during World War II, is often cited as the original innovation lab, setting the blueprint for future organizations. Since then, Skunk Works has become synonymous with secretive, fast-paced, and breakthrough innovation in aerospace. Today, innovation labs embedded in many of the world's most well-known and reputable companies continue to evolve with a focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, and other emerging technologies, with the COVID pandemic accelerating digital transformation.

With over 100 registered patents and over 1,000 companies using our products, it’s in our DNA and our legacy to go beyond the surface and create solutions that make a difference. We’re inspired by early innovations our own team lead–when Aspect founded the modern-day inbound contact center with launch of the Galaxy, the first intelligent ACD in 1973—and now, 50 years later, we’re doubling down on the future, with Alvaria Horizons.
