Unlocking employee happiness: a unified data approach

A fragmented approach to managing employee data often leads to a less-than-ideal employee experience.

A fragmented approach to managing employee data often leads to a less-than-ideal employee experience. This lack of visibility and data centralization hinders leadership's ability to proactively enhance employee happiness. By leveraging technology solutions dedicated to creating a unified approach to data, organizations can overcome these challenges—providing self-service options, efficient communication channels, and personalized services—significantly improving the employee experience and engagement.
Understanding Employee Experience

Employee Experience (EX) is the sum of what people encounter and observe throughout their tenure at an organization—it’s a journey that spans from their first day to their last. This journey is punctuated by various touch points that collectively shape the employee lifecycle, impacting their engagement and overall satisfaction at work.

Recent data from Gartner suggest that a mere 13 percent of employees are fully satisfied with their experience at work. This dissatisfaction is further echoed by the statistic that only 15 percent of the global workforce is actively engaged. Issues ranging from ineffective management, fragmented onboarding, inadequate training and leadership can really make or break an employee’s experience.

The below diagram showcases the ample opportunities for employee touch points during their employment cycle. With each milestone, we should be asking ourselves, “How could we better use technology and data points to build engagement, morale, and experience?”

How can intentional technology solve for this?
  • Streamlined Onboarding: establishing a strategy to examine the data around onboarding victories and failures to build an ideal flow around onboarding which customizes programs based on team members roles and experiences
  • Recognition: automated recognition of accomplishments triggered by data events in various systems, like KPIs being met or long tenure
  • Personalized Development: based on an employee’s background, create a segment of employees who could benefit from specific courses/goals
  • Reduce Employee Churn/Increase Employee Satisfaction: unifying disparate data to better understand why employees are leaving and act on those insights.

By transitioning from traditional fragmented systems within contact center operations to a comprehensive tech solution, organizations can effectively centralize data, ensuring real-time access and integration capabilities that lead to informed strategic decisions, talent management, and enhanced employee engagement initiatives.
